Current Fee Schedule

Standard therapy sessions are 50-minutes in duration.

Medicare Subsidies

All Medicare-eligible Australians can now receive a Telehealth service (i.e., you can access psychology sessions via videoconference*) and still claim a Medicare rebate under your mental health treatment plan. You should contact your General Practitioner (be sure to book in to see them for a longer mental health consultation), and discuss your concerns about your mental health. If approved, your GP will provide you with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. This entitles you to access 10 psychology sessions subsidised by Medicare. Your GP will ask you to attend an initial 6 sessions and then will want to see you again for a review to determine if you’d benefit from accessing a further 4 sessions.

Private Health Subsidies

Some private health funds provide cover for psychology sessions. The amount of rebate varies from health scheme to health scheme. Please contact your private health fund to find out if you’re covered and how much cover they provide. If your health fund does cover psychology sessions then we will charge you the full fee and issue you with an invoice to take to your Private Health Provider. Unfortunately, you cannot use your private health rebate to cover your gap payment. You must choose if you will use your Medicare rebate, or your private health rebate.

LONGER CONSULTATIONS

Unfortunately, at this time, Medicare does not allow for claiming more than one psychology session per day so longer sessions do not attract a larger rebate.

FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

If you’re not in receipt of a valid concession card and experiencing significant financial hardship, please discuss this with us. Therapy should improve your life, not make it harder.

*Please NOTE - online therapy isn’t suitable for everyone and referrals to Surf Your Mind are assessed on a case-by-case basis. A service will only be provided where it is considered safe and clinically appropriate to do so. The assessment process can take some time so you should allow at least 10 days between sending through your referral information and booking your first appointment.
